An MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) is an automatic electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent — specifically overload and short circuit.
What is an Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB):
An MCCB (Molded Case Circuit Breaker) is a heavy-duty, automatic electrical switch designed to protect electrical circuits from overcurrent (overload and short circuit) in higher-power applications.
The name "Molded Case" comes from the fact that all the internal components such as trip mechanism, contacts, arc extinguishers are enclosed in an molded insulating housing — usually made of heat-resistant thermoset plastic.
What is the Difference Between MCB and MCCB:

Can We Use MCB Instead of MCCB:
The answer is no, not in most cases — and doing so can be dangerous and a violation of electrical codes. Whether you can substitute an MCB for an MCCB depends entirely on the application, current rating, and fault current level.
